AURORA, CO – Jan. 19, 2023 – Page, Wolfberg & Wirth LLC, The National EMS Industry Law Firm®, is the first founding sponsor of Women in Emergency Services, a nonprofit membership organization focused on the empowerment and advancement of women in Emergency Response and Emergency Management, the two organizations announced today.

WiES’ mission -- to support and advance women's careers in emergency services, from field providers to local offices to national leadership – and its national platform are a leading effort to influence and impact the lives of thousands of women working in emergency services.

“PWW is committed to taking any actions within our power to promote diversity, equity and inclusion (DEI) in EMS leadership, in the EMS workforce and in EMS clinical care,” said Doug Wolfberg, a founding PWW partner, in announcing the firm’s sponsorship. “Our support of WiES is very much in keeping with that commitment to action in support of DEI.”

Fellow PWW founding partner Steve Wirth said, “We need more women in leadership positions in EMS to be more reflective of the makeup of the EMS workforce. We are also very impressed with the cadre of nationally-known EMS leaders – both men and women - who are supporting WiES as advisors and who are working to develop educational programs for the members.”

WiES endeavors to accomplish its mission through four “pillars” -- empowerment, networking, mentorship, and education. WiES has created an online platform for women in emergency services to provide resources needed to achieve their full potential in their careers, connect with peers, and empower others.

“This is a great time for women to opt-in to serving their communities as emergency managers and as first responders,” said Ashley Montoya, WiES’ executive director. “WiES’ advisors and staff are thrilled that important industry leaders like Page, Wolfberg & Wirth are investing in this idea and, like the women themselves, championing this cause.”

Since launching at the end of 2022, scores of women and men have joined WiES and are participating in the online “WiES Community.”
